All organisms, though they are plants or animals, all are composed of cells. And the cells enclose protoplasm which is the main life substance. Can our scientists make protoplasm in the laboratories . The scientists, so far, have not been able to make protoplasm, the living part of all plants and animals ( upto my knowledge ).
It may be a whale, a rose, a human being - the walls of the cells enclose the same life substance called protoplasm. In each cell, the protoplasm consists chiefly of two parts. One is the more solid, central part called "the nucleus". The other is the softer, more liquid part called "the cytoplasm". Each type of living thing has its own kind of protoplasm. So all protoplasm is not alike. And the different types of cells within an organism have special forms of protoplasm. Though protoplasm varies, 99 percent of its bulk is made of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen with traces of many other elements. Protoplasm also stores and releases all the energy that plants and animals have. What makes protoplasm alive is still unknown ! may be in near future everything will be solved .
